Sally Yates just sounded the alarm in a rare tweet about Trump’s meddling in Russia probe

President Donald Trump crossed a line this morning when he interfered in the Justice Department’s investigation into the 2016 election and his campaign’s alleged collusion with agents of the Russian Federation.

Trump took to Twitter and publicly demanded that his Attorney General, Jeff Sessions, who was forced to recuse himself from the investigation due to his own secret meetings with the Russian ambassador. 

While it’s nothing he hasn’t said before, the president’s attack on the Mueller investigation represents a dangerous abuse of his power and a serious existential threat to the checks and balances that are in place to hold the executive branch accountable.

Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates set wheels of this entire investigation in motion when she warned the White House about the potential blackmailing of former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn by Russia, and she took to Twitter this afternoon to issue another warning that the American people need to take to heart:
