John Brennan just took to Twitter to troll Trump over the Manafort and Cohen convictions

- 17.29

Former CIA director John Brennan took to Twitter this afternoon to take a shot at President Trump over the conviction of his personal lawyer and former campaign manager for a slew of serious financial crimes.

Seeing the twin prosecutions as proof that the rule of law and government institutions are holding firm in the face of Trump’s increasingly authoritarian behavior, Brennan shared a message of hope for the future while issuing a subtle jab at Trump for the “steady collapse” of his presidency.

Brennan has been at the forefront of the public eye ever since President Trump yanked his security clearance in a ham-fisted attempt to punish him for his outspoken criticism and a vindictive effort to throw a wrench in Brennan’s potential future plans to become a think tank consultant, weapons lobbyist or Very Serious cable news personality in the private sector.

The #resistance immediately embraced him with open arms and declared him an American hero with little consideration for his role in orchestrating President Obama’s murderous and questionably legal drone war and his abuse of his CIA powers to spy on the U.S. Senate while they were preparing their report on the CIA’s horrifying secret torture program under the Bush administration.

While it might be a little early for Brennan to be declaring that all is well, it is a very good sign that these two criminals finally had their day in court, and we eagerly await the day that justice comes for President Trump himself.
