A close friend of John McCain just revealed his parting diss towards Sarah Palin

It wasn’t just President Trump who got snubbed in the funeral plans for the late Arizona Senator John McCain. According to NBC News, Sarah Palin, McCain’s former running mate in the 2008 presidential election, was also pointedly left off the invitation list.

Carla Eudy, a fundraiser who has  been friends with the McCain family for many years confirmed to People Magazine that “invitations were not extended” to both Palin and Trump.

NBC reporter, Kelly O’Donnell, tweeted the reaction from the Palin family to the revelation.

McCain’s choice of Palin as his vice-presidential running mate was a surprising choice at the time when many people believed that McCain would choose his friend former  Connecticut Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman to run alongside him. While the choice of a former Democrat would have been in keeping with the maverick reputation that McCain liked to cultivate, in the end he made an even more disruptive selection by picking an inexperienced Alaska governor with right wing credentials.

It was a choice that McCain would later come to regret when the baggage that Palin brought to the ticket, including a tumultuous family life and a limited grasp of basic facts, became apparent. Political scientists say that Palin’s performance as the vice-presidential candidate cost McCain about 2% of his eventual vote count.

Before the funeral snub, Palin tweeted her own tribute to McCain right after the news of his death became public.

While Palin at least showed more common decency than President Trump exhibited, the late Senator made his true feelings about his former running mate known by his intentional refusal to extend an invite to his funeral, indicating that his feelings about Palin had drastically changed since he praised her by saying that she was “one of the best campaigners I’ve ever seen, and an impressive new voice in our party for reform and the principles that have always been our greatest strength” in his speech conceding the election to Obama.

It’s ironic that now Palin will be absent as Obama himself eulogizes the late Senator.
