Milo Yiannopoulos’s media empire just collapsed in humiliating fashion

- 16.09

Once high-flying,  the right-wing, gay, conservative provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos’s business has crashed again and he has been forced to lay off the small staff of his year-old company Milo Entertianment Inc., which he had said was “dedicated to the destruction of political correctness.”

“He fired everybody,” a source told Politico

The notorious British-born author, commentator, and former Breitbart technology editor, who has been an outspoken supporter of President Trump, had been funded for several years by billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, but last November that relationship abruptly ended after emails were leaked in which Yiannopoulos solicited interviews with neo-nazis and white supremacists for his articles.

Shortly after Robert Mercer said that the “actions of and statements by Mr. Yiannopoulos have caused pain and divisiveness undermining the open and productive discourse that I had hoped to facilitate. I was mistaken to have supported him, and for several weeks have been in the process of severing all ties with him.”

According to Politico, Yiannopoulos then found another wealthy backer, billionaire Matthew Mellon, the heir to a banking fortune who was involved in cryptocurrency transactions, who was expected to provide him with e a significant investment.

However, Mellon died suddenly on April 16 of an apparent drug overdose at age 54, and Yiannopoulos could no longer afford to staff Milo Entertainment.

Typical of Yiannopoulos, there was some miscommunication about who was fired and when, and at least one journalist continued working after he had been fired because Yiannopoulos had not informed him of his status.

Eventually, he was informed by Milo Inc. CEO Alexander Macris, who has since also been laid off.

His business is owned through an umbrella company, Milo Worldwide LLC, which continues to exist, while Milo Entertainment, which created videos and other content has folded.

Yiannopoulos has other businesses and insisted to Politico he is looking for new backing and will continue.

“As for those affected,” reports Politico, “they are taking a less rosy view. ‘People are very, very furious,’ said a person familiar with the situation.”

If there is one thing Yiannopoulos has been over recent years, it is good at making people furious, first with his opinions, then through his self-published book and in his speaking engagements which have often drawn as many or more protesters as attendees.

Last week in New York City, Yiannopoulos was forced to leave a bar after the crowd shoved him and repeatedly yelled, “Nazi scum get out.”

With his backing gone, his reputation in tatters, his ability to speak limited by the riots and controversy he causes, it might be time for Trump to call ICE and have Yiannopoulos deported back to the U.K.

For most Americans, the less they hear about this confused, disgusting publicity-hound, the better.
