The Trump Administration shares more than a passing resemblance to blockbuster movie villains bent on world domination – of course, he’s definitely more of a clumsy Austin Powers parody than a sinister James Bond mastermind.
How it has taken this long for the legendary Mike Myers to reprise his role as the iconic Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers franchise is truly mind-boggling, but thankfully, we finally got the bumbling baddy back!
Late-night host Jimmy Fallon began an upcoming segment by discussing Trump’s incessant cabinet turnover, eventually introducing an “exclusive” interview with the most recent White House reject. The reject was then revealed to be Myers in a reprisal of the hysterical role.
“Naturally I was going to be secretary of Evil, but Steve Bannon got that job,” Myers quipped in character, drawing his right pinky finger close to his mouth.
He also admitted Dr. Evil was the genius behind the border wall, though he apparently wanted sharks with laser beams attached to their heads a “moat full of spiky blowfish.”
“And I didn’t want the Mexicans to pay for it, I wanted Alec Baldwin to pay for it,” he proclaimed… though if that quote finds its way to Fox and Friends, expect that to be next on Trump’s agenda.
One thing Dr. Evil would not lay claim to was deportation of the DREAMers. “Even I have my limits. I’m evil, but I’m not a monster,” he said.
The rest of the clip takes aim at various cabinet members the world is desperately waiting to see ousted – Kushner, Don Jr, Ben Carson – and if you get all the way to the end, you’ll see Dr. Evil’s running mate for his 2020 presidential bid!
