Preet Bharara just revealed Trump’s fatal mistake that could be the end of him

Former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Preet Bharara, is convinced that President Trump is ignoring the advice of his own lawyers when he goes on Twitter to defend himself in Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s investigation of collusion with  Russia.

Appearing on ABC‘s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” Bharara said:

“What I believe is that the president doesn’t listen to his lawyers.”

While Trump claims he “was listening to his lawyers,” Bharara asserts that “there’s lots and lots of stuff that he would not have done, said, tweeted,” if he was really following their advice.

“So here’s a person who wants to defend himself, he does it through the platform of Twitter on a daily basis,” he continued.

The former U.S. Attorney is certain that Trump will eventually speak with Mueller and his team whether his lawyers advise against it or not, although the likelihood of Mueller wanting to speak with the President before the very end of the probe after they’ve thoroughly interviewed all of the lesser players in the drama is small.

“He said he wants to talk to the special counsel’s office. And if they make the request or say ‘we’re available for you to talk to us,’ it seems untenable not to do it. Now, the president doesn’t have to talk, but I imagine the president will talk because that’s what he does,” Bharara said to Stephanopoulos.

With a deep knowledge of the workings of federal investigations, Bharara’s opinion carries a weight of legal skill that many Washington observers fail to match. His predictions are well worth heeding, and, if he’s right, grab the popcorn. We’re in for a conversation for the ages.
