Ivanka Trump: Oprah's Golden Globe speech 'inspiring'

First daughter and White House adviser Ivanka Trump said Monday night that Oprah Winfrey's Golden Globe speech was "inspiring" — a day after the entertainer set off talk about a 2020 presidential bid with a rousing speech.

"Just saw @Oprah's empowering & inspiring speech at last night’s #GoldenGlobes. Let’s all come together, women & men, & say #TIMESUP! #United," Ivanka Trump wrote on Twitter.

Winfrey's speech accepting the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award at Sunday's Golden Globe Awards went viral after she invoked the civil rights movement to talk about the wave of sexual misconduct allegations in Hollywood.

"For too long," the entertainment mogul said, "women have not been heard or believed if they dare speak the truth to the power of those men. But their time is up. Their time is up."

A spokeswoman for Ivanka Trump didn't immediately return phone calls and emails. President Donald Trump hasn't reacted publicly to Winfrey's speech.

Winfrey's speech ended with a promise that "new day is on the horizon."

"And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure they are the leaders to take us to the time where nobody has to say, ‘me too,’ again," she said.
